Bob Ross can mellow you out through a mobile app
Be honest: if you've watched Bob Ross' The Joy of Painting, it was probably more for his ultra-relaxing voice than his artistic advice. More than a few people have admitted to nodding off to his episodes. If so, you'll be glad to hear that his dulcet tones are available on-demand through your phone. Calm has released an officially approved Bob Ross Sleep Story recording for its mobile app (simply titled Painting With Bob Ross) that, as you might guess, uses snippets from the artist's PBS show to help your slumber. You no longer have to leave a YouTube video open or find a way to grab the raw audio.

Computers don't dream of electric sheep, they imagine the dulcet tones of legendary public access painter, Bob Ross. Bay Area artist and engineer Alexander Reben has produced an incredible feat of machine learning in honor of the late Ross, creating a mashup video that applies Deep Dream-like algorithms to both the video and audio tracks. The result is an utterly surreal experience that will leave you pinching yourself.
Break out your paintbrushes again: Twitch launches Bob Ross Mondays
When Bob Ross began painting happy trees and sunlit fields on public television in 1983, there was no such thing as Twitch, no online streaming and certainly no KappaRoss. But now, there's Bob Ross Mondays on Twitch. The streaming site will air The Joy of Painting, Ross' beloved show, every Monday from 3PM PST to 9:30PM PST, starting tonight. Isn't life in the future grand?

To celebrate the Bob Ross' birthday, streaming video outfit Twitch has secured the rights to broadcast all 403 episodes of the well-coiffed artist's The Joy of Painting series. The magic runs for a week, starting today, over at Ross' Twitch channel, and is part of a bigger announcement: Twitch Creative is partnering with Adobe as a launch sponsor, and the category's getting its own homepage that'll highlight, well, folks painting and doing other creative stuff on the service. What's more, the fledgling Music category's getting brought over under the Creative umbrella, so there's a good chance you could log on and see Deadmau5 making his next electronic track on the homepage soon.
