TikGames is launching yet another game on PS3 this week via the PlayStation Network: Hamsterball, a self-described, hamster-themed mix of "Marble Madness and Super Monkey Ball." As with other games featuring plastic-trapped mammals, Hamsterball looks to be a race through suspended mazes, with the goal of achieving faster and faster completion times. In addition to the requisite single-player campaign, Hamsterball also features a two-player split-screen mode and a seven-player "sumo" mode. We're not entirely sure what "sumo" is supposed to mean, but it's true that the PS3 can support up to 7 controllers locally -- so will Hamsterball be one of the few games to actually support this feature? Hamsterball will be available for $9.99 on the North American PlayStation Store this Thursday, March 25.%Gallery-88724%

One of our favorite PSN games of 2009 has to be Magic Ball, the simple (yet charming) brick-breaking game from Creat Studios. Starting tomorrow, the game will be renamed Magic Orbz, in preparation of a second DLC pack. For $2.99, the "Winter Theme" pack will add 24 new levels and four new Trophies to the title. It will appear on the PlayStation Store tomorrow in Europe, and on January 14th in North America.

The team that's bringing you the Mushroom Wars demo is also preparing a Smash Cars demo for tomorrow. Thankfully, the trial RC racer will be available in both Europe and North American when the PlayStation Store updates. "Just one action-packed lap around the track with real-time physics, innovative stunts and next-generation graphics will be sure to capture gamers' attention," said Vladimir Starzhevsky, co-founder and CEO of Creat Studios, Inc., in a press release. Hopefully, the demo will include more than just one lap. %Gallery-48220%

TikGames is bringing one of its first XBLA games to PlayStation Network next week -- and we're not entirely sure why. Interpol: The Trail of Dr. Chaos is a game where you must find things in pictures. Seriously, that's it. While this may be fun for casual gamers and children, we find it unlikely that PS3's hardcore gamer community will find it particularly engaging. The critics certainly didn't, giving it a Metacritic score of 45.Let's hope the PS3 version won't cost the same as the Xbox 360 version: $10. But to save the most money, take this advice from Joystiq's Richard Mitchell in this old XBLA in Brief video: "you could buy a copy of Highlights and do the exact same thing."

  • Watch the Smash Cars trailer, eat a sandwich

Creat Studios' upcoming Smash Cars game for the PlayStation Network reminds us a lot of ExciteBots, sans the mid-race sandwich-making and pie-throwing. The arcade racer is a radical departure from the studios' previous titles, focusing on high-octane in-your-face action. Cuboid, this is not.Players will have to control tiny RC vehicles and utilize nitro boosts to pull off some gravity-defying stunts. By drifting and jumping and hitting various obstacles, players will earn points in their race for first. You can expect Smash Cars later this quarter.%Gallery-48220%

  • XBLA Interpol: Find stuff in a giant mess

Fans of I Spy and Where's Waldo? will get a chance to bring that "fun" and "excitement" to their Xbox 360 with TikGames' upcoming release, Interpol. This Winter, Xbox Live Arcade game Interpol will have you strategically staring at your television on a mission to spot hidden object and hidden bits among the unorganized clutter. This begs one important question, will HD display owners have a significant edge over their SD counterparts? It has already been proven that HD clutter is much easier to sift through ... we're just saying. Gallery: Interpol (XBLA)
