Xbox 360 owners feeling left out of all the motion-sensitive fun PS3 and Wii owners are currently having can finally breathe easy... and then break out their wallets. Talismoon's Tiltboard mod is due to ship next week for an estimated $39.99 -- a number that doesn't include a controller or the soldering iron you'll need to install it. The board features adjustments for tilt sensitivity, y-axis orientation, and zero level, but unless there's a setting that ports WarioWare to the 360, we're missing the point.[Via Xbox 360 Fanboy]

  • Tiltboard for Xbox 360 shipping next week for $40

Talismoon has now posted an product page for the Tiltboard, a mod for the Xbox 360 controller that swaps the use of the right analog stick for relative motion-based controls similar to the Sixaxis and Wii remote. Switching between the motion controls and the analog stick, as well as calibration and sensitivity adjustment, are done via two buttons that stick out of the back of the controller. Creator Adam Thole sent Joystiq a picture of the back of a "Tiltboarded" gamepad, shown above, this morning. The mod cost $39.99 and unfortunately right now it comes as a kit for you to install yourself. But for those really longing for motion-based simulation in their Xbox 360 titles, this is probably your best bet for now. The Tiltboard will start shipping next week.[Via X3F]

  • Tiltboard gets priced and it's spendy

Talismoon's little Tiltboard project is finally blooming as they just announced that the Tiltboard will available for purchase next week. But be warned, it's expensive ... very expensive. This board, which allows tilt control on your 360, will retail for $39.99 (ouch!) not including a controller or soldering iron. Though, we have to admit it does have more features than we initially expected including adjustments for sensitivity, zero degree setting and an option to invert the Y axis. If tilting is important to you and your bank account/mod skills can handle it, then we must say that the Tiltboard looks to be your only best choice.

Modder Adam Thole has unveiled the second generation of his tiltBoard 360, providing motion-based controls to the one console that doesn't use them. The tilting functions act as an input for however you used the right analog stick.New to this version is the ability to calibrate, adjust sensitivity, invert the Y-direction and switch between using the analog stick and motion controls "In game." While appreciate Thole's user-friendly implementation, which involve just tow buttons that are "easily accessible on the outside of the controller," the press release claims, we don't currently have a picture of the buttons on the exterior, relegated currently to internal shots. We've contacted both Adam Thole and distributor Talismoon for more information. The new version of tiltBoard 360 is scheduled to ship the second half of this month for an estimated price of $34.99.[Via Engadget]

It's honestly not too often that these homegrown DIY efforts actually end up going big, but just as it was predicted, the tiltBoard 360 is legit. Talismoon has officially released the second generation of the tilt sensitivity add-in for the Xbox 360 controller, which is supposedly "easier to use" than Sony's SIXAXIS. The board comes pre-loaded with tiltTune technology, which purportedly allows gamers to adjust the tilt sensitivity, tweak the 0-degree point, invert the Y-axis, and even deactivate the tilt feature if you should desire. Unfortunately, this iteration is still not a simple drop-in mod, as you'll be busting out the soldering iron for no fewer than seven wires. Still, for those not afraid to their hands dirty, the next-gen tiltBoard 360 will be shipping later this month.

  • Tilt control on the 360 for the masses

Everyone knows that the Wii and (to some lesser extent) PS3 controllers have motion controlled goodness, but what about our 360? Well, if you are yearning for some sort of motion controlled experience then today we have good news. The tiltBoard (as seen in the demo above) will soon be mass produced by Talismoon and will be available in the not too distant future. If you aren't familiar, the tiltBoard allows control over the d-pad and left thumb stick simply by tilting the controller in the direction you choose. It's a nifty little project that could be a big hit if priced just right. Though, we couldn't imagine tilting to ten kills in Gears, so we'll leave it to the racing fans. Anyone interested?[Via Engadget, Thanks UnboundEdog]

Although the Wiimote (and the SIXAXIS, under certain conditions) already enjoy the luxuries that tilting can bring, it looks like those sticking with Microsoft's console will now be able to get in on fun as well. Thanks to a partnership with "specialist peripheral makers" Talismoon, the highly-regarded tiltBoard is reportedly getting an commercial makeover as it readies itself for "mass production." Details are admittedly scant right now, but the forthcoming product -- "which will bring tilt sensitivity for the Xbox 360 to the masses" -- is said to be "worth the wait" from its presumably jovial creator. And if you can't visualize just how spiffy it'd be to control your 360 titles without touching the analog or D-pad, be sure to click on through to see what the tiltBoard can do for you.

Modder mavin Adam Thole wasn't satisfied with the wire dangling from his tilt-sensing Xbox 360 controller -- so he cut it off. Thole has now successfully applied his mod to the wireless version of the 360 controller, including a switch to seamlessly transition between the left analogue stick and tilt control.Thole plans to produce a how-to video for creating your own tiltable controller using his tiltBoard. For the impatient or unskilled, Thole's selling a pricey pre-built unit on eBay. [Via Xbox 360 Fanboy]
