Humble Indie Bundle 8 is already a screaming deal, and it now has four more games and their soundtracks to tickle your fancy (and vocal chords): Tiny and Big: Grandpa's Leftovers, Intrusion 2, English Country Tune and Oil Rush. These join the "pay more than the average" tier, alongside Hotline Miami and Proteus. Whatever that price is will also get you the "pay what you want" games, Thomas Was Alone, Awesomenauts, Little Inferno, Dear Esther, and Capsized. All games and soundtracks would now cost $150 at retail, but the bundle price is up to you – though only for seven more days.

Joystiq is revealing its 10 favorite games of 2012 throughout the week. Keep reading for more top selections and every writer's personal, impassioned picks in Best of the Rest roundups. FTL: Faster Than LightI find tremendous pleasure in games that allow me to name my characters, humanize them and create their unique, intricate backstories, for the sole purpose of making me watch those beloved little guys burn to death on a cramped space ship. No game does this better, or more often, than FTL: Faster Than Light.Another alluring aspect of FTL is that it's an indie game that looks indie. The game's strength lies in the incredible interstellar journey the player takes with her crew, and the graphics do everything they can to stay out of the way of these space battles and indiscriminate deaths. It's a mental game, high-energy in synapse rather than the screen – much as I've heard the original X-COM described. And like X-COM, playing FTL isn't just a wonderful experience today, but it promises greater, better things to come from Subset Games.

There are so many games out there we couldn't possibly review them all. Welcome to Snapshot, where we highlight games that might fall outside our usual coverage but are still something we think you should know about. Today: Tiny and Big: Grandpa's Leftovers for PC. Some games teach us about the perils of war, how physics work or what we can look forward to in a future of space exploration, aliens and super-intelligent robots. But some games provide insight into something even more mystical, even more special and remarkably less intelligent than those robots: ourselves. Tiny and Big: Grandpa's Leftovers is one of those games. And it has high-powered laser action. Like, a lot of high-powered laser action.

Though you'd expect a game called "Tiny & Big" to be primarily about growing and shrinking, the trailer for Black Pants' debut PC/Mac game reveals more of an emphasis on lasers! And ropes! And rocket devices! We haven't seen so much destruction visited upon desert rocks since Wile E. Coyote.Tiny & Big is available today from Steam, GOG, GamersGate, and the official website. You can also buy it in a box from Amazon.de, if you prefer your games to be packed in German boxes.
