Worlds in Motion reports that you can now buy game cards for MapleStory and other Nexon games at your local 7-Eleven convenience store. The game cards -- which cost $10 or $25 -- can be used to purchase in-game items. At first, this struck us as bizarre, but it actually makes some sense. A 7-Eleven representative is quoted in the Worlds in Motion article saying that the cards are perfect for the "tweens and teens" who enjoy MapleStory -- a demographic that also happens to frequent 7-Eleven. The representative calls it "the Slurpee-beverage crowd."It's a strange world. Next thing you know we'll be buying EQ2 game-time cards at the gasoline pump!

In today's episode of "no surprises here," we look at a recent study published by Piper Jaffray & Company which attempts to take an intimate look inside the minds of high schoolers across the US. As you'd probably expect, none of the results were all that shocking. When asked about MP3 players, some 82-percent of those that already owned some form of DAP stated that it was an iPod, which was slightly up from last fall. Additionally, 64-percent of those surveyed admitted to downloading music illegally, which may actually be an (ever-so-slightly) positive figure considering that the percentage actually dropped from 72-percent in 2006. As for the iPhone, just 3-percent of students claimed that they owned one, but nearly 10-percent stated that they were looking to pick one up "within the next six months." Surely one of the most visible personalities on big and small screens worldwide already, Paris Hilton is now set to invade your cellphone with a new game she is developing with being developed by Gameloft. While it's unknown whether Ms. Hilton will actually be writing the code or simply lending her name to the project, what is clear is that the title will be targeted towards the "tween/teen" audience, and is slated to launch this summer. Also unknown is the exact plot of the game, but we have a strong suspicion that it will involve taking pictures of yourself with your cameraphone and then trying to protect the sensitive data at all costs.[Via MocoNews]
