If you're into videoblogging, and it would seem that everyone is these days, then you have to check out Miro (you may know it as Democracy player). Billed as 'groundbreaking Internet TV software,' Miro 1.0, which was released yesterday, allows you to search, subscribe to, and view any number of video podcasts. A handy guide is built right into the client so you'll never be without content, but if you can't find something that strikes your fancy there the ability to search across a number of video sharing sites is also baked right into the app.Miro allows you to organize your subscriptions in channels, create playlists, and much more. Miro, as you might expect, is free and requires OS X 10.3 (though 10.4 is required to play some videos). A Windows and Linux client is available as well, but who uses those platforms anymore?

Either the developers of Mercenaries 2 play a lot of Xbox 360 in their downtime, or Pandemic is bringing its sandbox sequel to Microsoft's console. The chances are strong, even by admission, but Mercs 2 remains exclusively tied to PlayStation 3 -- for now. So guys, care to explain all the 360 equipment cluttering the office in your latest video blog? Perhaps it's time for the official announcement...[Via GamersReports]

The Democracy Player is a cross-platform internet television viewer (or IPTV, for buzzword-compliance) that boasts over 500 built-in channels for your endless entertainment pleasure. It takes a bit of a different approach to internet television with support for a wide variety of aggregation services, including BitTorrent, and a full-blown channel guide. The player was recently updated to version 0.8.5 for all platforms, and there is now an Intel version of the app available - not to be confused with Universal. Their Mac OS X download page offers two separate downloads for PPC and Intel versions, stating that a Universal version is pending.Democracy Player is donationware and available from getdemocracy.com.

More Sundance, more HD. We already know many of the films being shown at the festival were shot in HD, so of course even people who aren't there shouldn't watch them any other way. To that end, the Flavorpill lifestyle blog has teamed up with DivX to provide high definition videoclips direct from Utah. This is a good example of the high quality independent content we can expect to see more of as HD camcorders drop in price. I couldn't find any clips on the page right now, but we should see some 720p goodness before long.

Now of course we would say DVGuru is the best place to go learn about high definition tools for producing independent films, but if you like to get more hands on and happen to be in Utah starting tomorrow, visit the HD House. They've got panel discussions, product demonstrations and more planned. The tech sponsor for the house is Grass Valley, who will be spotlighting their HD camcorder and media. Any of you prosumers hitting up Sundance want to tell us how it is?
