Samsung's SPH-W7100 managed to slip through the FCC's database in December of 2008, and now we're being clued in as to what all the handset will bring to the table. While details surrounding specifications and the like are still scant, we are notified that the mobile will be the company's first to "offer the SOS function with a ring, rather than a button, for ease of use." The so-called safety phone was designed with women, children and puny men in mind, and it gives users the ability to evade dodgy situations by emitting an alarm and sending out a location-laced SMS to numbers that you choose. Unfortunately, it doesn't double as a switchblade, which means you're still on your own should your attacker mean business.[Via textually]Read - FCC spottingRead - SOS details
