Warlords of Draenor cinematics, machinima, and more with Terran Gregory
If you've played World of Warcraft since the beginning, you've doubtless witnessed a slow evolution of story development take place in the form of in game cinematics and increasingly complex and beautiful patch trailers. The majority of these trailers can be chalked up to In-game Cinematic Project Director Terran Gregory, who has been toiling away on bringing us the very best of in game machinima since Burning Crusade. In Warlords of Draenor, those in game cinematics take a giant leap forward, featured in nearly every zone of the new expansion -- and with new models galore, they've never looked better. As the launch of Warlords marches ever closer, we had the opportunity to finally sit down and have a spoiler-free chat with Terran about the cinematics of Warlords -- as well as his beginnings with Blizzard, and the progress of cinematics from mere machinima trailers to in game marvels of technical prowess.
Another still from Warlords cinematic released
Blizzard has released another still from their upcoming Warlords of Draenor cinematic trailer. Like yesterday's release, it features Grommash Hellscream, but this time we're up close and personal. This is one ominous-looking orc. It also seems like there are some sort of rockets or artillery going off behind him--tools of the Iron Horde? I guess we'll find out when the full cinematic is released tomorrow. Click the image above for the full resolution version. Also, Grom? Dang, you need a new facial cleanser. Whatever you're using now isn't doing anything for your pores.
New still from Warlords cinematic released
Blizzard has just released another still image from the upcoming Warlords of Draenor cinematic. While yesterday's shot was a scenic view of Draenor, this still depicts warlord Grommash Hellscream and his legendary axe Gorehowl. Click the image above to view a hi-res version. The full cinematic will be released this Thursday along with an announcement of the Warlords release date. Grommash, you're one ugly dude. A beautifully-rendered ugly dude with fabulous hair.
Warlords of Draenor cinematic and release date to be revealed on August 14
The wait for Warlords of Draenor is coming to a close. No, we don't have a release date yet, but Blizzard has promised that they'll be releasing the release date on August 14th alongside the reveal of the expansion's cinematic. The announcement will be done during a live stream event featuring Mike Morhaime, Chris Metzen, Ion Hazzikostas, and Brian Holinka broadcast from the Ace Theatre in Los Angeles at 9:30 AM PDT on August 14th. If you're in the LA area, you can see the event in person -- doors open at 8:30 AM and seating will be on a first-come, first-served basis -- and get a Warlords beta key out of the deal, too. Additionally, Blizzard will be unveiling a new animated lore mini-series called Lords of War, which we're guessing will be similar to the Burdens of Shaohao series released during Mists -- but we'll have to wait to August 14th to see just what it will look like.
