The buzz around the WildStar watercooler this past week is all about the final two racial reveals for the game: the Chua and the Mordesh. Carbine thinks that players might relate better to these... odd races if each has a face to put with its name, which is why the studio is introducing us to Mondo Zax and Victor Lazarin. Mondo was the runt of a Chua family who used his brilliance and psychopathic ways to off his family and secure a job as Chief Technologist for one of the Dominion's R&D firms. While crazy and cranky, Mondo has followed his ingenuity to Nexus, where he continues to research horrible tools of mass destruction from an orbital station around the planet. So go figure that the space zombie is actually the more peaceful of the two. Victor is the guy responsible for the Mordesh's undead status, as an eternal life serum he devised ended up cursing his race instead. Victor's been trying to atone for his actions by slowing the contagion and looking for ways to reverse it entirely with the revelations coming out of Nexus.

When you're not dealing with the chaos and madness of the planet Nexus in WildStar, odds are good you'll be dealing with the game's main factional conflict between the Dominion and the Exiles. But how did this split come to pass? What are the Exiles exiled from in the first place? The latest WildStar Wednesday tackles exactly this issue, explaining how one man led a rebellion against the largest military power in the galaxy and won -- or at least came close to winning. The Exiles, as it turns out, were originally citizens of the Dominion's capital planet, Cassus. Unpopular Dominion policies led to riots on Cassus, which culminated in the retired Admiral Serrick Brightland stealing his flagship from drydock and leading several other traitors on military raids against Dominion holdings. Brightland succeeded in hurting the Dominion, but without a home base to fall back on, his fleet was forced to flee, becoming the Exile fleet scouring the fringe of the galaxy for a new home. Take a look at the full article for details about Brightland's last stand and the core of the conflict between these two factions.

Carbine hosted a light WildStar Wednesday this week due to traveling to E3, and as such we've been given a slew of pictures to tide us over. The five screenshots are of Gallow, one of the towns in WildStar that is located in Algoroc. Gallow appears to be a frontier town with a handful of structures, including a rickety water tower. It sits nestled in a mountainous region marked by pine trees, lush grass, and jutting red buttes. If you feel a little robbed by this week's reveal, Carbine promises that next Wednesday will present a doozy: "Behind the scenes, the community team is working on a pretty major project that we'll unveil at next week's WildStar Wednesday, so stay tuned for an in-depth first look at something we've never shared about WildStar!"
