All realms will be undergoing maintenance Tuesday November 3rd from 3:00 a.m. PDT until at least 11:00 a.m. PDT. This is more or less the standard maintenance that we've all come to know and love so much. So hopefully this won't come as a surprise for folks. We need to be diligent here and note that there is absolutely no indication patch 3.3 will drop tomorrow. That event is still at least a few weeks off from all indications coming into WoW.com HQ. Enjoy the downtime if you're not working -- go get some sun, eat a cheeseburger, do something off the game. It'll be leveling up in real life! Fun!

WoW.com has been getting a massive number of tips in regarding problems people are experiencing when trying to log into the game. There is no official Blizzard word yet, but I wouldn't be surprised to see one soon. The problems seem to be originating from people who have not yet merged their World of Warcraft accounts with their Battle.net accounts. To do so, go into the account management page and select the appropriate options. There have been some stability issues with the login servers the last few days, and this seems to just be the latest. If you can't get in, check out our Guide to Patch 3.2 - we're expecting the patch to drop within the next few weeks. And if you haven't heard already, the Warcraft Movie has landed a director - Sam Raimi. It's World of Spidercraft, baby.Update: Now there is an official Blizzard response to the problem, although there is no ETA on a solution.Update #2: For those wondering, the issue was fixed overnight.

Welcome back to The Queue, WoW.com's daily Q&A column where the WoW.com team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Adam Holisky will be your host today.A simple question instead of an introduction.%Poll-31854%Go get her, Ray!Some music too which you can listen to while reading today's Queue. And some more. Don't watch the videos, they're dumb. But the music is great.Angus asked... "Why is there a defense channel for every zone? Specifically, why would anyone be attacking the Twisting Nether? I found this to be my most amusing channel. The raid or instance ones are funny, but this one always cracks me up."

  • Maintenance for select realms tomorrow

Maintenance came and went today, and many people were initially pleasantly surprised to see their realm up early. However this quickly became a thing of disappointment as they found the instance servers were laggier than normal, and the realms themselves were rather unstable. While there were a series of quick restarts to correct many of the problems, several issues still existed. And of course another maintenance period has gone by without any fix to the dreaded "Additional instances cannot be launched, please try again later," error. Those words are nearly burned into my monitor now.Tomorrow morning from 5:00 a.m. PDT / 8:00 a.m. EDT until 8:00 a.m. PDT / 11:00 a.m. EDT the following realms after the break will be down for additional maintenance and hardware upgrades. These short downtimes usually mean that nothing too special is happening, but in case there's a cataclysmic event we'll be sure to let you know. (See what I did thar?)The list of affected realms after the break!

  • Rolling restarts, some maintenance

The opening in game announcement tells us that there will be rolling restarts tomorrow beginning at 5:00 a.m. PDT / 8:00 a.m. EDT. Each realm will be down for about 15 minutes, and all the restarts should be done by 7:00 a.m. PDT / 10:00 a.m. EDT.This is important in that shows patch 3.1 will not be going live tomorrow. No server downtime means no patch, so everyone can relax and enjoy the game as is for another week. There is a possibility a few more realms will be down for an extended amount of time – and if that turns into anything major we'll let you know here.

Despite the issues associated with the extending of today's maintenance, all US realms are back up and running. We don't have reports of any stability issues, so everything appears good.Patch 3.0.8 is not out on the live servers, however you can access it on the Public Test Realm (PTR). Today also marks the start of Arena Season 5, so expect a lot of PvP to be going on tonight. There's also the Winterveil celebration going underway. Today is a great time to get some of those achievements knocked out before the holidays kick in next week.See you in Azeroth!

  • Surprise! Extended maintenance extended

All US realms will now be down until 1pm PST / 4pm EST.I really don't know why Blizzard doesn't just change their times for extended maintenance to make it last until 1pm PST every time, or just push it back to 3pm PST and be done with it. That way there are no failed expectations when the servers don't come up.It's a relatively contradictory thing for them to say they'll wait push a patch to live until it's ready and never give a time estimate, and then turn around and give a time estimate whenever the severs are down. Don't you think? Perhaps they should just say the severs will be back up "soon."Of course, I'm probably just QQing because this afternoon my lazy butt is finally going to hit exalted with the Kalu'ak. I'm going to go get that sweet fishing pole first thing. I'm going to dance with it too, a pole dance if you will. But alas that'll have to wait until I can log on.We'll put up a post when servers are back up, or some other debacle happens. Stay tuned.

  • Realms up after extended maintenance

Realms are back up after a bit of extended maintenance this afternoon. There has been no communication from the blues or other Blizzard sources as to why the downtime was extended. But with that said, all the realms are working and things appear to be going smoothly. And by smooth I mean I still have the mail in my in-box from when the servers went down this morning. So that's a good thing, right?

  • Realms offline until at least 6:00pm EST [Updated]

Breaking news from the service status forums:All realms will be offline until at least 6:00pm EST / 3:00pm PST. They are having to keep the realms down for this extended period due to errors in the mail system.Essentially, every piece of mail that was sent prior to the realms going down at 8:00am EST was lost when the servers came back up. Blizzard has said that they are actively looking for a solution to the problem. We're keeping our mailbox post updated with the latest information on that front.Hopefully this extended downtime is not foreshadowing things to come when Wrath of the Lich King starts to enter circulation tomorrow evening at midnight*. Update: Please see this post for more information concerning the downtime.Stay tuned to WoW Insider for more updates. Are you ready for the challenges that await you in Northrend? • Realm issues for the evening of October 21st

Blizzard is well aware of the realm issues that are plaguing the game tonight, October 21st. They have said in the opening in-game announcement that they're working on it, and now have posted as much on the forums. They will also be restarting all realms shortly. For those of you not experiencing the issue, just about every time you try to enter an instance you receive a "transfer aborted" message or some other such error. This is causing quite a bit of havoc on guild as they try to push hard during the last few weeks of Burning Crusade raiding. We'll update this post throughout the evening when Blizzard releases any more statements.
