WoW.com TCG Loot Giveaway: Papa Hummel's Pet Biscuits and Slashdance
Since we're in the middle of a pretty lazy Sunday here at the Wow.com secret world headquarters, we decided it might be cool to reach into the old prize box and pull out a few goodies for all you evening browsers of WoW news and information. In particular, we're going to be handing out a few TCG loot codes courtesy of our good friends at Upper Deck. For starters, let's throw out two codes for some Slashdance grenades, which will make everyone in the blast radius break out into dance. Pretending you are the Music Meister optional. We'll also give away an old but goodie - a code for 50 Papa Hummel's Pet Biscuits, which will make the targeted vanity pet grow. Use it on your Teldrassil Sproutling and pretend you have a pocket druid healer (actual healing ability not included).Leave a comment below before 2:00 am EDT, and we'll pick a few of you at random to get these codes. It'll give us something to do while we wait for more submissions for our October Guild of the Month contest.
Breakfast Topic: I love
Matt Rossi and 248 of you (as of last night around ten) might hate things in the game, and that's cool. There's some things that I hate, too. But you know what? I'm a lover, not a fighter. Why hate when you can love, after all? There are a few things I love in the game. I love the satisfaction when an alt dings to 60, 70, or 80. There's always great new skills to be learned and new challenges to face. Nothing is more addicting to an MMO addict than reaching those benchmarks.I love the feeling at the end of the raid when you've downed an impossible boss, giving everything you and 24 other people had to make it happen. My buddy Jacob and I have often reminisced that we haven't had that feeling for a long time – not really since Kael'Thas, Illidan, or any of the Sunwell bosses -- but it was so damn good when it did happen that I'll take those memories with me into the next decade of game playing.Along those same lines, the arena battle where you end with just a few dozen points of health left and everyone else lies dead before your might – that's epic. I love that. The exhilaration, the sheer skill and determination to stay alive in a virtual world propels such legendary wins.So I have a challenge for you today, dearest WoW.com readers, let's love more than hate. I'm sure there's more than 248 things you all love about WoW -- show the world that all you need is love. And to sweeten the deal, I'll select 5 people whose responses I like the best and email them a TCG loot code, to be selected at random from a stack of codes that include Slashdance, Papa Hummel's Old-Fashioned Pet Biscuit, and a few others. Get your answers in before 11:59 p.m. EDT tonight (September 14th), which is when I'll select the winners and send them their codes. So tell me, what do you love?
Win even more loot from WoW.com
While the entries for our Guild of the Month contest for September flow in, we've decided to also hand out a little bit of instant gratification. Loot codes, anyone? This afternoon we have, once again, a few Slashdances to hand out, courtesy of Upper Deck. In case you've forgotten, each of them gives you a stack of 100 Party G.R.E.N.A.D.E.s which you can use to start impromptu dance parties in your capital city of choice, or if you're that guy you can use them to drive your raid nuts and prevent them from devouring that delicious Fish Feast we all love so much. All that you need to do to win one of these is leave a comment on this post. At 11:59 pm tonight, I'll be disabling comments and picking three lucky winners at random. Please remember to use a valid email address to leave your comment, because that's how I'll be getting you your code. If I send you a mail and it bounces, you're out of luck and I'm moving on to someone else. Please only comment once. If I find you commenting multiple times to increase your chances, you will be disqualified. If you're looking to win something a little more substantial from us, don't forget to enter the Guild of the Month contest for $100 worth of gear from Swagdog, where you can get some awesome custom guild apparel.
Enter to win some loot cards from WoW.com and WoWTCG.com
Is it just me, or have we had lots of EU-only contests lately? First, Lesley gives away some loot cards for the EU, and then Turpster gives away some more. This is July 4th, and it's about time we served the North American side of the globe! (Canada, we missed Canada Day, so we'll throw you in the mix, too). Courtesy of our good friends over at WoWTCGLoot.com (be sure to visit them if you need to know anything about the TCG Loot cards), let's give away some loot codes! We've got 10 in total that we'll give away to ten random commenters on this post before tomorrow night, Sunday July 5th, at midnight. There's an Epic Purple Shirt, two Sandbox Tigers, three Papa Hummel's Pet Biscuits, and four Party Grenades up for grabs -- to enter, just leave a comment on this post, and since it's Independence Day, how about telling us what your favorite kind of firework is. I was always partial to the black snakes -- most people though they were boring, but I knew how the big ones blew up, and I never really understood just how those darned snakes worked. One comment per person in the US and Canada only, please, and do be sure to use a real email address when you comment (that you check often) so we can get in touch with you ASAP if you win. Good luck to everyone, and happy Independence Day!
The Fields of Honor TCG loot in motion
As we mentioned just the other day, the latest batch of TCG loot from Fields of Honor is on the PTR for testing. I couldn't resist going to give those things a whirl myself. After all, how else will I decide if I should blow money on these things? Plus, the PTR has premade level 80s this cycle. Premades plus free TCG loot to play around with? Yes, please! For those of you that don't have the time or inclination to hop on the PTR yourselves, we've grabbed some video of the various items in action. Up above you'll see El Pollo Grande, and below the cut you'll find the Path of Cenarius and the Ogre Pinata. I recommend clicking through to their YouTube page and watching them in High Quality.

Reminder: Two chances left to win a Tabard of Flame from WoW Insider
Pssst. Hey evening readers. We know you guys usually can't visit us at work or school -- you have to wait until you get home to check the site every day. Maybe you're eating dinner right now, chowing down on leftover takeout and catching up on all the WoW news of the day while flying around to do your daily quests. We appreciate you tuning in, and that's why we've waited until your time of the day to remind you that you've got two chances left to enter to win a Tabard of Flame from WoW Insider and WoW TCG Loot.We started this contest on Tuesday (in the morning, which is why we were worried you guys might not see it), and since you can put a comment on the contest post every day (until tomorrow night at midnight), that means that you all have two days left to enter a comment. So even if you missed the contest before, you can still get in on the action. Please note that to enter, you must leave a comment on the contest post, not this post. Leaving a comment on this post gets you nothing but our satisfaction, and while that's worth a lot, you probably want a Tabard of Flame even more. And make sure to use a real email that you check often, so we can get in touch with you if you win.So thanks, evening readers, for tuning in every night here after a long day's work. We appreciate it, and we really hope you win the tabard. Because as much as we love our early morning and late night readers, they don't read the site at quite the same time as you do, if you know what we mean.
WoW TCG Loot gives away a few special Tabards
We've mentioned WoW TCG Loot before -- they track prices of those TCG Loot cards, and while I don't think I'd ever pay money for an ingame item, if you want to, their price guides are pretty invaluable (not to mention that they provide a helpful directory of all the cards released so far). And now they're hooking up some lucky folks with some TCG loot of their own, specifically some of those tabards that got released a while back. Usually, items like the Tabard of the Void and the Tabard of the Arcane are only available through Upper Deck's points system, but WoW TCG Loot is giving three Tabards to folks who enter on their contest page. And even if you don't get a tabard, they're also randomly giving away a paper airplane kit to one lucky winner.Entering is as easy as telling them why you want it and putting your email address in (they say they don't send unsolicited email, but as always, enter your info at your own discretion), and you've got to enter before August 17th to be a part of the contest. Good luck to everyone who enters!
