They monitor how much traffic and bandwidth each customer uses by a computer. That computer automaticly puts a cap on your connection if you reach a certain upload limit within any monthly use. So having such a devise cripples your internet speeds. And that sucks big time. I have a replaytv here in ny and my father has one in pa and we like to send each other programs when we cant record at our homes. But weve been capped so had to stop.
