The Xbox 360 can do 1080p over component if your TV supports it. It looks great in 1080p (over component) on my 42" Westy. I won't be upgrading to the Elite until it gets the new 65nm chips and they figure out how to link my downloaded Arcade content and videos to the new console. Currently, if I transferred my content to a new console, I would not be able to access it unless I was logged onto Xbox Live.
