you know, you could use it on your left ear while driving a car (right ear in GB,Japan,Australia etc.) or you could just leave it on the dashboard of your car when your not in the car, since most people only use headsets while driving, this could be great to charge the headset while you're shopping or at work, at least in summer.
plenty of ppl use headsets outdoors, even indoors there is light (doesn't have to be sun) which i'm guessing would be enough to supply enough power to stop the battery from discharging during normal use and storage...
