The Korean 80gb version has it removed as well. I'd be interested if anybody knows a website that is tracking PS3 production dates of north american units to find out when this transition is going to occur or has occurred.

Not surprised. It will probably stay that way too as they sell the version without the emotion engine.
I thought i read that the emotion engine was only removed from PAL versions of the ps3...
