Interesting concept. The only way I see this as useful is that it cuts another item out of my laptop bag. So that instead of carrying a mouse and a GPS receiver I just need to carry one device.
But using the mouse while the GPS receiver on seems kinda awkward. If you have ever attempted to use a mouse in your car then you know its not the easiest thing to do.
I dont think you're supposed to use the mouse in the car with the gps....the reciever can just as easily connect to your smartphone...enabling you to thoretically toss the mouse in your laptop bag ( assuming you keep one with you ) and having two ways to connect to gps via laptop and smartphone...the gps reciever probably doesn't require you to actually USE the mouse to be effective....I find this a highly useful tool regardless of its asthetics ....every new piece of tech need not be stunningly gorgeous as that is not a good indication that it works!
I did not think that most smartphones had USB host capabilities. I could be wrong but usually you have to either get a phone specific adapter or have a bluetooth GPS device.
