We knew they were coming,
now Orange has announced their intent to introduce the M-System/Oberthur Card Systems developed 512MB MegaSIM into
select multimedia handsets starting this year. Yeah, it’s what you think, a new SIM card with about 8,000 times
the memory of a standard SIM. Besides the obvious convenience this type of convergence brings to the end user, Orange
is stoked at locking their customers into Orange-only devices. Expect to see these new MegaSIMs launched initially in
France in the LG U8210 (pictured) handset, and then across Orange’s European network with additional handset
offerings later this year.[Via The Times Online, Thanks James]
