The storage gurus at Pretec, makers of such
innovative-for-their-day USB drives as the 8GB
i-Disk II thumbdrive and
super-small
i-Disk Diamond, have come out
with a new addition to the i-Disk family that can also act as a data bridge between a PC and a cellphone for backup and
file transfer. Even better, the phone keypad-controlled i-Disk Mobile can act as a charging bridge, juicing up
your handset from your notebook's USB port. Nokia- and Sony Ericsson-compatibly will be standard out-of-the-box when
these start to ship in April, with support for other manufacturers to follow shortly.
