So has it been tested under Linux? Is this one of those generic devices where you don't need special drivers?
Basically, I'm wondering why they mentioned Windows /and/ OSX, but not Linux-- because the statement would have been false had Linux been added to the list by the author because the statement /may/ have been false if -^ or because the author didn't feel like Linux was worth mentioning for some reason?
because there is probably backup software included for mac/windows and not linux/bsd.. most external hdd's do not mention linux/bsd, but i have used many, and they always work. infact, only device i have that actually mentions linux on it anywhere is my sandisk cruzers.

If you are using osx just make sure you copy your files, and stay away from the move command or else you will lose all your stuff;)

If it works in windows, it probably works in Linux using Samba and any of your favorite copy/sync tools.
They are probably talking about purpose built backup/sync software.
