No optical drive doesn't bug me too much considering how these will be used.
My notebook's optical drive has pretty much been used for installing operating systems. (I tinker.)
I'm guessinf that the "weak" processor is a compromise for battery life and again taking the thing's likely usage into account.
I'd love to have one of these.
