Round-up: covers of Mario tunes
As one of the world's most well known video game characters, it's not suprising to see tributes to Mario appearing nearly 25 years after his first game appearance. A sign of his timeless appeal is the fact that Nintendo is still producing games with Mario as the central character. Another important factor is the music. How many people do you know who wouldn't recognise the first "doot doot doot, doot doot doot doot" of the Super Mario Bros theme?
This cover of several Mario tunes (on a marimba no less) introduces Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach and Toad (on drums) to the fray. The audience reaction to this performance is insane. Just wait until Luigi pulls an invincibility star out of the question box!
Singing the Mario Bros. tune may be something you do in the shower, but this group took it to a whole new level. Check out this acapella tribute.

Alternatively, try the "fat bass" version. Bass this fat should be illegal!
A true representation of what students learn whilst at college and university: how to play the Mario Bros. theme tune with sweaty hands.
The video game pianist hits the Mario Bros. theme tune — blindfolded. He's also covered every single popular video game tune ever.
Taking a look at the vast number and quality of these performances, it's hard to imagine the Super Mario Bros. theme tune ever getting old.
