BT's Trackit anti-theft system

BT trackit

Sure that fancy schmancy security car security setup of yours is nice and all, but it's not much use if someone grabs your keys and drives away all legit-like. That's British Telecom's inspiration behind the Trackit, a car tracking system that includes a special wireless fob to verify you're near the car when it's being driven. If the car doesn't detect the fob nearby, it'll send the satellite coordinates to the cops and give you a text message with the good news of your car's theft. Of course, this all falls down once you lose the little unit; luckily, you probably won't get the chance since this £450 setup, plus £150 for the service, is UK only.
