FreeBSD adds Xbox 360 controller support

Good news for any computer gamers out there who don't use a Microsoft OS, FreeBSD has recently incorporated a patch to enable support for the wired Xbox 360 controller. From the CVS log: "They are HID-capable devices, but lack a report descriptor and don't use the standard interface class. This patch works around these deficiencies so that the uhid(4) driver can recognize and use those broken devices."

I would expect Linux and Mac OS X support soon as well, putting all the platforms on the same level: that is, fully functioning but without support for tweaks button configuration. It wouldn't be surprising to see the open source community add this functionality out of the box before Microsoft does. How about it Microsoft; some better software for your pretty little controller?
