Panasonic expands Lumix line with 6 megapixel DMC-LZ5, 5 megapixel DMC-LS2 and LS3

Panasonic has added three new models to its Lumix line of digital cameras, all of which feature the company's Mega Optical Image Stabilization anti-shake system. The Lumix DMC-LZ5 is a 6 megapixel camera with a 6x optical zoom, 2.5-inch LCD, and a maximum ISO setting of 1600. The LS2 and LS3 are 5-megapixel cameras; the LS3, features a 6x zoom and 2.5-inch LCD, compared to the LS2's 3x zoom and 2-inch display. We're definitely psyched to see Panasonic incorporating OIS into such a wide range of consumer compacts, rather than just keeping it as a premium feature for superzoom EVFs. Sure, some might think OIS is an overkill on a camera with a mere 3x zoom, but if your hands shake even a little, or you're trying to grab some low-light shots, you'll wonder how you ever got along without it.
