Cellphones are dangerous/not dangerous, part deux mille

We never thought we'd be getting our tech news from Matt Drudge, but the drudgester appears to have the goods on a new study claiming cellphones -- drum roll please -- do not cause brain cancer. The study, apparently due to be published online by the British Medical Journal tomorrow, is based on interviews with nearly 1,000 Britons with glioma, a rare, malignant brain tumor, along with about 1,700 healthy subjects. Researchers found that there was no connection between tumors and cell usage, based on cell usage over as long as 10 years by the interview subjects. Of course, since the study is apparently based solely on interviews and not on any medical research, it certainly won't be the final word on the topic. In the meantime, we can continue using our cellphones as usual, confident that at least someone thinks we're perfectly safe.
