A new book on brand development for gaming hits retail next month. Brands And Gaming: The Computer Gaming
Phenomenon and the Impact of Brands on Gaming says the gaming industry is "bigger than the film and music
industries and is growing faster than both of them put together." The book claims to be the first major study of
brands and gaming citing "huge opportunities" for brand development in the industry.
No doubt
there is even more money to made in video games, and brand development will play a big role in maximizing revenues and
the perceived value of respective manufacturers and publishers. Any marketers out there want to analyze the brand
strengths and weaknesses of the three major console manufactures, namely Microsoft, Nintendo, and Sony? Whose brand is
most vulnerable, and whose brand is on the rise?
