Mario, Madden, GTA dominate gaming franchises
An enterprising contributor at GAF used the North American NPD sales data to create a chart plotting the top 30 gaming franchises this generation. Mario, Madden, and Grand Theft Auto unsurprisingly dominate the charts; however, what is surprising is where some other notable franchises fall. Zelda is beat out by Namco Museum, while Metal Gear and Metroid don't even show up.
