First impression: Cars from THQ

Here's quick multiplatform glance at THQ's movie adaptation of Pixar's Cars. It's a cartoony racer that isn't a bad entry level game for people who aren't as hardcore into other facets (ie: Gran Turismo).

Cars is definitely aimed at a certain demographic (we're looking at you pre-teens). As a simple racing game, the controls seem very user-friendly and curbed for people who may not be as learned in the genre. That leaves the aesthetics up for judgment, and frankly, it looks pretty good (especially the Xbox version). It has a cartoony feel that you'd expect from a game inspired from a Pixar movie.

No complaints here for such a simple game. Family friendly, easy to pick up and play: Cars has something anyone could enjoy, especially for new to casual gamers.
