Poll results: Which video format will prevail?

Assuming disc media can thwart imminent downloadable content a while longer, here are the formats Joystiq readers think will prevail in the coming years: 40% picked HD-DVD, 33% say DVDs still have life, 20% selected Blu-ray, and 7% believe none of the above will last, many of which cited downloadable content as the reason. Having lived in a single dominant format world for a long time now (VHS, CDs, DVDs), we'd hate to see a format split. But maybe -- just maybe -- non-standardized formats wouldn't be such a bad thing for consumers. If that turns out to be the case, let's hope so.
