The Queue: does not work

Welcome back to The Queue,'s daily Q&A column where the team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Adam Holisky be your host today.

Another week of The Queue, another week of questions and answers about the World of Warcraft, from your hosts Adam Holisky, Alex Ziebart, and Mikhael Saccovich. Sacco's gone Russian, we hear. His new found editor powers have made him a communist, where he directs everyone to post more and more and share the WoW love around; while he himself sits in his tower tending to his hair.

True story.

Many people asked...

"What happened to your mobile/iPhone enabled site?"

We're aware that is not working as expected right now. Our engineers at Aol are on it, and we're hopeful it'll be fixed soon -- although I don't have a timeframe to give you when it'll be fixed (I don't even have an internal timeframe, other than "Soon").

For those that don't know what is, it's the mobile version of the site. It doesn't have all the fancy graphics of, and loads really fast on iPhones and other mobile devices. Right now if you go to it and click on an article link, it'll take you to the article, not the light version without the fancy graphics.

There is a work around for the issue -- if you copy the article's URL (or just stop the article during its loading process) you can then replace the "www" part of the URL with an "i" and things will work fine and display as the reduced mobile version. I know it's not a solution, and we hope to have this working perfectly again soon. We'll have a post up when we're able to get it fixed.

Vacasta asked...

"Is there a way to tell how often someone has been vote kicked from a PuG?"

No, and I hope such a stat would never be allowed to become public knowledge. Kicking players from a group can be done for both bad and good reasons, and the bad apples would become even more empowered to behave like asshats in order to raise a players "kick score."

RogueJedi63 asked...

"What will happen if you have a quest in your log that ends up being removed in Cataclysm? Will the quest be removed from your log? Like what if you have Mankrik's wife's quest when Cataclysm hits and they finally move her remains. I would guess it'd just be deleted from quest log."

I agree with you. I would think they're going to just be deleted; and actually I would just assume that they're going to clear everyone's quest logs upon the Cataclysm patch drop. We don't know officially, of course, and we won't know until very near the start of Cataclysm -- but the technical issues of allowing thousands of unfinished quests to exist in the log files of tens of millions of accounts would be astounding. Much easier just to clear all the logs than to have to worry about thousands of possible errors.

Mors asked...

"Doesn't it get frustrating and annoying answering the same questions over and over again?"

Yes, it does. That's why we want all of you to ask us questions that we haven't heard! To ask a question, leave a comment and we'll answer it if we can. And if we don't know, we'll find someone on staff who does or link you to a resource that answers it.

Five things not to ask, because we've either answered it a dozen times or just don't know: the exact Cataclysm release date, dance studios, Cataclysm class changes, details about Cataclysm raids, details about Cataclysm dungeons.

Have questions about the World of Warcraft? The crew is here with The Queue, our daily Q&A column! Leave your questions in the comments and we'll do our best to answer 'em!
