Motorola Droid's Froyo update now available for download, if you dare

Chris Ziegler

It's not rolling out to everyone just yet -- as usual, this is a phased update -- but that doesn't mean you need to twiddle your thumbs while you wait for Motorola and Verizon to grace your Droid with Android 2.2. Turns out the upgrade file on Google's servers has been located and mirrored a billion times already, so if the guys out in Mountain View decide to pull it, you should still have a pretty easy time tracking it down. Since this is an official, signed update, the risks are pretty low -- and it might be a nice hold-over while you wait for the Droid 2, right?

[Thanks, Jon]
