The Queue: Another Tuesday in Azeroth

Welcome back to The Queue, our daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Adam Holisky, senior editor at WoW Insider.

Welcome to another Tuesday in Azeroth. It's a brisk 37 degrees outside in Northrend, the first frost is expected to by any day now. Good times.

Slaytanic asks:

Do you guys know anything more about the Insane title going away?

We don't. We know that the title will never be taken away if you have it now, but the ability to earn the title in its current form will be going away. There's no information on whether Blizzard will make another achievement like it at some point in the future; however, I wouldn't put it past them. It's not really too hard to make an achievement if you've reached exalted with XYZ factions.

Then again, I'm not really sure there'll be any insanely difficult factions to grind in Cataclysm, so there might not be a new achievement like that. Be happy if you have it now; you are truly a special snowflake.

Oskiee asks:

Is it just me or is
Fallout: New Vegas a lot more addicting this time around? I'm having trouble chosing what im going to play now, WoW or New Vegas.

It's not you. I recommend playing as much New Vegas as you can right now, and then playing WoW when Cataclysm comes out.

Rufio mused:

Man, that really is a blast from the past (in) those old articles. It's interesting the the number of comments is usually around three to four, seldom more. It's obvious why, but it's certainly a different beast than the WoW Insider we know and love today, eh?

It really is. More mind-blowing: what we got in hits in one day's totality a year after we launched, we now get in 10 minutes at points during our BlizzCon coverage.

Most people don't know (or I gather, you could if you read some of those old posts), but our standards have evolved dramatically since we started publishing. Back in the day, authors wrote a post and published it whenever they felt like. Today, our writers pen a draft article, have it approved by an editor and a senior editor, then do more work on it, and then get it scheduled perhaps two days out. Very different process that produces very different results over the years. This is perhaps a little too meta for the Queue, but it's an interesting evolution in the context of internet publishing.

Bourne asked:

Will level 81-85 normal 5-mans award justice points?

They did not the last time I played, but that could change.

Shockologist asked:

Is it true that the entire reason that Blizzard revamped the entire 1 to 60 experience with this major shake-up is a result of Ghostcrawler's attempt to remove chests from the game?

Hmm ... I'm going to go with "yes" here, just for the hell of it.

Tim converses:

Hey Nerds, let's nerd out.

Fanfic. What are some popular and well-written
WoW fanfics?

What's the plural of fanfic?

My favorite is the one I wrote, where the bar maid and the adventurer are about to get it on, Tenacious D-style. But with that said, I'd love to hear what others' favorite fanfixs are.

Your second question was just answered. This Queue is now diamonds.
