New MacBook Pros may be on the way for March
9 to 5 Mac is reporting increasing signs that new MacBook Pros are on the way. This latest evidence is from Best Buy "dummy SKUs" in its inventory system. If correct, the new laptops will come in at $1199 with a March 11 availability date. Those Best Buy dates aren't always accurate, but it looks like something might be coming.
The MacBook Pro line has been getting a bit long in the tooth in terms of basic design. The last release of the MacBook Pro was in April of 2010. The current laptops are in short supply in some countries. Some of the international Apple Online stores are showing 2-3 week delays. At the US store, all MacBook Pro models are shown to be in stock and shipping within 24 hours.
