PSN to be 'fully restored' by the end of the week, Sony says

Sony announced this morning that it will "fully restore all PlayStation Network services" to America, Europe and Asia by the end of this week. Regions being omitted from this final push include Japan, which recently began its own phased restoration, and Hong Kong and South Korea.

The full functionality includes use of the PlayStation Store, voucher and code redemption, full use of Qriocity and Media Go. The company says that customers can now purchase games and videos from the PSN for PS3 and PSP. (We're checking to find out if there will be a PSN Tuesday update today.)

This also means details on the "Welcome Back" program and, more importantly, the method for redeeming those free games, should be available shortly.
