The Queue: Barkour

Welcome back to The Queue, the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Mike Sacco will be your host today.

Winterhawk asked:

I am loving the new cross-realm dungeon grouping feature. Being able to run dungeons with friends on other servers is great, to the point where I will pay for this feature when it's no longer free. My question is: what do you think the odds are that they will extend this to raids if it catches on? That would be my dream, to be able to pull in a few RealID friends from other servers to raids. I realize there would be logistical problems (like they'd certainly have to disable the ability to get Realm First or other server-specific achievements for cross-server groups) but I think things like that would be a small price to pay to be able to raid with friends.

I think the service as it exists currently is a test for a broader, more robust system. I wouldn't be surprised if you could eventually do more with it eventually, like rated battlegrounds or raids. Of course, you can't grab raid members cross-server yet, much less through Real ID, so it may be a ways off if it's coming at all. Just speculation.

Revynn asked:

Whats the Alliance equivalent of Tranquillien?

Unfortunately, there isn't one. Draenei players get a tabard for their troubles on Azuremyst/Bloodmyst, but blood elves get some pretty great weapons through Tranquillien, as well as the added benefit of nabbing an exalted reputation before they even leave their starting zone. Not terribly balanced.

Partsunknown asked:

When Brann Bronzebeard was down in Silithus (at least I remember him as being there) why didn't he just look over the cliff behind his camp and see Throne of the Four Winds peeking up above it? Or even the enormous Obelisk towering over Tanaris and Un'Goro? If he's so interested in Titan history he would've been there alot sooner than I imagine.

Because the Throne wasn't there yet. It didn't phase into our plane until after the cataclysm.

Marius W asked:

Do all the writers currently play WoW?

Some more than others, yes. Like me, some writers take breaks to keep from getting burned out on the game; some just play more frequently than others.

Gabrielhansraj asked:

What spec is Thrall?

I mean, he use the doomhammer a lot to deal with his enemies which could in fact suggest that hes enhancement. Although he doesn't duel wield. However at the same time he heals himself a bunch such as wounds and what not so he could also be resto. I haven't seen much of his ele side tho.

It's been shown that NPCs don't have to deal with the whole pesky talent tree system. Malfurion uses spells and abilities from all of the druid trees, for example. Whatever kind of tree Thrall specializes in, if any, he's not very good at it. Did you see him in his duel with Garrosh, casting Chain Lightning on a single-target encounter? Dude's gonna run out of mana fast.
