Rambo: The Video Game to emerge from the jungle at Gamescom

Rambo

Reef Entertainment's Rambo game still exists, with the publisher announcing plans to exhibit a playable build of the console and PC game on the Gamescom show floor in August. In a bold display of Rambo-esque machismo, Reef has called the new game "Rambo: The Video Game," instantly tossing aside the eight previous Rambo video games released to date.

Despite this apparent confidence, Reef has yet to reveal any media showing the actual game. "We have been quiet since we acquired the Rambo license last August," admitted Reef commercial director Craig Lewis in the latest missive. "During this time we have been dedicated to creating a videogame for consoles and PC that will allow Rambo fans and gamers across the globe to really get under the skin of Rambo and wield his iconic weapon-set in battle." Reef plans to release more information about exactly how you'll get inside his skin (and about the game) between now and Gamescom.

RAMBO: THE VIDEO GAME TOUCHES DOWN AT GAMESCOM

'You don't seem to want to accept the fact you're dealing with an expert in guerrilla warfare, with a man who's the best, with guns, with knives, with his bare hands. A man who's been trained to ignore pain, ignore weather, to live off the land, to eat things that would make a billy goat puke. In Vietnam his job was to dispose of enemy personnel. To kill! Period! Win by attrition. Well Rambo was the best.' - Colonel Samuel Sam Trautman, FIRST BLOOD ™ & © 1982 Studiocanal S.A.
