Verizon brings The Daily, Slacker Radio apps to Android tablets

Verizon has just announced a slate of new partnerships at CES today, bringing The Daily, Slacker Radio and a host of other apps to select Android tablets. With today's announcement, Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 owners will be able to access Rupert Murdoch's tablet-optimized news app, with either a $4 monthly subscription, or $40 annual plan. The Galaxy Tab 7.7, meanwhile, will receive the app at a later date. The carrier is also bringing Slacker Radio to a wider range of Android slates, and has launched apps like TouchyBooks and Trend Micro Mobile Security Personal Edition, as well. The Daily and Verizon Wireless to Release the Android™ Version of the News App on Select Verizon Devices

Samsung Galaxy Tab™ 10.1 will be the First Device to Come Pre-Installed with The Daily
BASKING RIDGE, N.J. and NEW YORK, Jan. 10, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Verizon Wireless and The Daily have announced an agreement to make the first Android™ version of the top-selling subscription tablet news app available on select Verizon Wireless devices beginning this month.

The first Verizon Wireless device to come pre-loaded with The Daily will be the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1. Devices will get the app with an update to the software, and The Daily will also be available on the home screens on those tablets for new customers. The recently announced Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 will also offer The Daily at a later date.
"Verizon Wireless has been a key partner since we launched on iPad, and we're thrilled to now be available to Android customers as we continue to expand and grow throughout the mobile space," said Greg Clayman, publisher for The Daily.
