How to assemble coordinating transmog gear sets for your hunter or shaman

In fashion, coordinates are matching pieces of clothing that are meant to be worn together. Think of a matching suit jacket and pants, or a prom dress and shawl sold together in the same color. Typically, coordinates are for people who work in offices and need to look professional or people who can't dress themselves.

In WoW, there are coordinates too, and they can be used strategically to pull together seemingly unrelated pieces of gear into different looks. This week, I'll be showing you three different looks for your mail-wearing hunter or shaman, all oriented around three easy-to-obtain mail coordinates.

The coordinates

Work around your coordinating pieces

Once you've got your three coordinates, the sky (or maybe just a sky blue kilt) is the limit ... Whatever it is, you've now got a lot of freedom and flexibility to wear whatever you want with your coordinates. You can mix and match different pieces you like from dungeons or quests. They can be different colors or all from the same set.

The colors, Duke!

It should be noted that the coordinating shoulders, chest, and gloves in this transmog set all come in different colors. There are purple, gray, and red varieties that are all pretty easy to acquire through questing, and they'll work great if the other pieces you want to wear don't work so well with blue. Consider the draenei shaman above. The pieces all match, but the color is a bit off, isn't it? In this case, if I were really set on using the Bloodthirsty Gladiator's pieces I'd picked out, I might try pairing the outfit with the gray Orcascale Mail set instead.

Patch 4.3 lets you transmogrify your gear to look like any other gear your class can wear -- but you have to collect it first. Check out our coverage of transmogrification and start running those old dungeons!
