Joystiq Predicts: Sony's E3 2012 conference

Joystiq Predicts Sony's E3 2012 conference

With E3 2012 only a few short days away, we decided to take a moment to tell you what we think might happen during the three major press conferences at the show. In years past, we've created Bingo Cards to create some sort of false interactive experience. (And no one ever won!)

But we're friends ... I mean we hang out all the time. So, let's just riff. Here's some things we expect, and a few things we don't.

Sony's Pre-E3 2012 Press Briefing will take place on Monday, June 4 at 9:00PM EDT. Joystiq will be there in full force, bringing you every piece of news as it happens.

For all E3 2012 coverage, make sure to bookmark our new E3 Landing Page.

We're Sure: A major focus on Naughty Dog's The Last of Us, which is likely to be out before The Last Guardian.

We're Thinking: An unveiling of third-party characters in PlayStation All-Stars, including Dante and Ezio.

We're Dreaming: That I get a better head cut-out for this thing next year.

We're Sure: The Vita's price drops to under $200.

We're Thinking: TOKYO JUNGLE!!!!!!

We're Dreaming: BioShock Vita is unveiled at last.

We're Sure: Sony bundles the PS3 and Vita in some capacity, stealing some thunder from the Wii U. It will be bundled with two copies of Riiiiiiiiiiidge Raaaaaacer. For both platforms.

We're Thinking: Call of Duty Vita.

We're Dreaming: Kojima appears to tease the next game in the Metal Gear series, and I don't mean Rising.

We're Sure: Sony will shower the Vita with love and, possibly, a price drop.

We're Thinking: All-Stars is a big-ticket item for Sony, so expect to see some more characters revealed.

We're Dreaming: PlayStation Move will finally get a killer app.

We're Sure: PlayStation All-Stars: Battle Royale sizzle reel that'll have us asking "who's missing," followed by Sony doing one character announcement per month until the game's launch.

We're Thinking: God of War: Ascension launch date.

We're Dreaming: PS4 announcement; apology for cell processor, PS3 and the last five years.

We're Sure: Killzone Vita gets blown out as the "next big Vita game," according to Sony.

We're Thinking: Killzone 4 gets revealed for PlayStation 3 as well.

We're Dreaming: Anyone cares about the Killzone franchise.

We're Sure: Vita sales number spin activate: Sony talks up PS Vita worldwide sales, even though they're not that great.

We're Thinking: Sony shows off Battle Royale for Vita, with crossplay functionality and handheld- and console-specific characters.

We're Dreaming: Ken Levine appears to show you that BioShock Vita game, and not talk about it.

We're Sure: A demo of The Last of Us (crossing my fingers that Ellen Page plays the game on stage to a live performance of five indie artists covering three indie songs you've never heard of: They'll call it "Junoception." I don't care that Ellen Page isn't involved with the game at all).

We're Thinking: PlayStation All-Stars: Battle Royale character list, complete with glaring absences from a few fan favorites that will be filled in later with DLC.

We're Dreaming: Half-Life 3. (Someone has to not feature it, right?)

We're Sure: New The Last of Us details and more Vita versions of PS3 titles.

We're Thinking: The return of Jak and Daxter to the PS3.

We're Dreaming: PlayStation All-Stars: Battle Royale gets Ico.

We're Sure: Beyond seeing more of games we've already heard about, like PlayStation All-Stars: Battle Royale and The Last of Us, Sony'll have come up with some new use for the PlayStation Move that humanity can't live without.

We're Thinking: I also anticipate the announcement of one or more new entries in the Uncharted, Killzone or Resistance franchises.

We're Dreaming: PlayStation 4? Not gonna see it this year, nor will we see a redesigned Vita this early out of the gate, or new Move hardware. Also, no new Crash Team Racing.

We're Sure: LittleBigPlanet Karting details, date, and a version for Vita!

We're Thinking: We see more of Metal Gear Solid Rising: Revengeance demoed during the conference. Now with 14 percent more revenge.

We're Dreaming: The Last Guardian is anywhere in sight.
