Breakfast Topic: Going above and beyond

Breakfast Topic Going above and beyond

The Mists of Pandaria beta servers are now open completely, allowing players to reach level 90. Two new zones have been opened up, and most players are heading into the Dread Wastes to complete quests there. Unfortunately, there's just one small problem: There are some quest NPCs in the zone that are flying out of reach for those of us at level 89. I was bemoaning the fact that I couldn't find any quests to complete other than the ones entirely out of the way when I happened upon the player pictured above.

Already level 90, he was simply sitting by the annoying flying quest NPCs as a Sandstone Drake and happily ferrying those of us who were still landlocked up to the NPCs and back down again. I'm not sure exactly how long he was there, but it was long enough for me to complete a series of quests that unlocked a chain that had nothing to do with flying NPCs. So if you happen to be playing on Lost Isles (US) and you run across Magitoons, be sure to give him a /salute, /hug, /cheer, or any other appropriate "Hey man, you're awesome!" emote.

I like helping people out, too -- back in Wrath of the Lich King, a low-level tauren asked for help getting from Mulgore to Orgrimmar in trade chat. Needless to say, he was mocked by nearly everyone in the channel at the time. I decided I had time to kill and I wasn't doing anything else, so I took a flight to Mulgore, grouped up with the poor bewildered tauren, hopped on my Mechano-hog and took him for a sightseeing ride across The Barrens and to Orgrimmar's front steps. I like passing along the random moments of kindness I see to other players.

Do you go out of your way to offer help to random strangers? Do you like to lend a helping hand? Have you ever been the recipient of a random act of kindness? When push comes to shove, how likely are you to go above and beyond to help other people?
