Toshiba tries its hand at home theater audio with the SBX4250 Sound Bar

Toshiba has long been acquainted with the visual facets of home theater setups, and now the firm is entering the audio side of the equation with the SBX4250 -- the first in a line-up of sound bar speaker systems. Featuring SRS TruSurround HD and accompanied by a wireless subwoofer, the strip packs two tweeters and four speakers in a 3.6-inch tall, 2.2-inch deep and roughly three-foot long form factor. In addition to the included HDMI and optical audio inputs, the box boasts Bluetooth connectivity for streaming audio from PCs, tablets, smartphones and other compatible devices. IRVINE, Calif. - August 14, 2012 - Toshiba's Digital Products Division (DPD), a division of Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc., today announced its entry into the home theater audio market with the SBX4250 Sound Bar Speaker System. Offering rich, powerful and dynamic audio performance, the SBX4250 Sound Bar Speaker System provides hassle-free home theater sound.

The SBX4250 Sound Bar can sit on a mantel, table or mounts easily to a wall with no additional hardware, and comes with both HDMI® and optical audio inputs to suit most any home theater setup. It produces rich, high-fidelity sound shaped by SRS TruSurround HD™ with TruBass® and Dolby® Digital, pumping out up to 300 watts1 of amazing audio to make every movie, game and broadcast program the immersive experience it ought to be. Additionally, with the convenience of Bluetooth® connectivity, the SBX4250 Sound Bar can stream audio from a tablet, smartphone, PC or other compatible device at the touch of a button. The SBX4250 Sound Bar Speaker System comes in a modern matte-black finish with semi-transparent metal grill. It features four midrange speakers and two tweeters, and includes a separate wireless subwoofer that can be placed virtually anywhere in the room. It also comes with a wireless remote to keep you in control. The Sound Bar measures just 3.6 inches tall and an ultra-thin 2.2 inches deep to perfectly match today's 40" or larger flat panel TVs.
