Windows 8's Gunstringer: Dead Man Running developed by Other Ocean

The Gunstringer: Dead Man Running is a significant departure from the original game. For one thing, it's not a Kinect game for Xbox, but rather a Windows 8 game for PCs and tablets. For another, development is taking place not in Austin, but up north in Canada at Other Ocean Interactive.

Most significantly, Dead Man Running is now an auto-running game with shooting challenges, in both a Story Mode and three "endless runner" stages. It's free-to-play, with customization items available through in-game currency and unspecified content available through in-app purchases.

Dead Man Running will begin its marathon across Windows 8 devices in November.

The Gunstringer: Dead Man Running, Coming Soon to Xbox Games for Windows 8!
Boots, chaps and cowboy hats... nothing else matters. - Anonymous
September 5
, 2012 – Charlottetown, PEI: The Gunstringer... A legendary dead man. A dead man who fought his
way through hell to exact revenge on the one who banished him there! Other Ocean Interactive is excited to
announce The Gunstringer: Dead Man Running for Xbox Games for Windows 8. Sean Evans, a producer who's
been accused of killing a man for snoring, has a lot to say about the game. "I love it! It is wild with adventure!" He
and his team have been working day and night to get the game out in time for the big launch. "I hear they eat
dinner in Hades at twelve sharp and I don't aim to be late!"
The Gunstringer: Dead Man Running is a fast paced action game that incorporates skilled shooting seamlessly with
a level driven story mode. As the legendary Gunstringer, players sprint through three sprawling, old west inspired,
locations that span across 15 levels. But as the ol' saying goes, if you climb in the saddle, be ready for the ride.
Players must avoid deadly obstacles, take aim in fast paced shootin' challenges, collect tasty loot, and battle
outlaws all while being pursued by the hounds of hell.
Once players have completed the Story Mode, they can challenge their friends for bragging rights and loot payouts
in each of the three Endless Runner levels. Hard earned loot can be exchanged for new customization options such
as weapons and power-ups to aid you in The Gunstringer's quest.
The best part? The Gunstringer: Dead Man Running will be FREE! While you get plenty of rootin' and tootin' on
our dime, I reckon you expect a catch, and you'd be half right. We will be chargin' for additional content via in-app
purchases. That's right, it ain't all freeville! We still have to put food on our table. The game is packed with Xbox
LIVE support, including the achievements you love, access to your friends list and leaderboards. The game is
expected to drop on Xbox Games for Windows 8 in mid-November.
Xbox Games for Windows 8 titles will be available beginning October 26
and will continue to release throughout
the rest of 2012. The innovative mix of fun-to-play titles can be played on any PC, laptop, or tablet with Windows
8. An added bonus being that you can start playing the game on your PC and continue on your Windows 8 friendly
tablet for gaming on the go! See Major Nelson's full report here!
