One Shots: Don't go chasing waterfalls

The wisdom of TLC flows down through the ages in many forms, but perhaps the group's greatest lesson was this: Don't go chasing waterfalls; please stick to the rivers and the lakes that you're used to. In other words, if you go exploring in MMOs, you're only inviting destruction to rain down on your head, so just stay home.

Wait a minute, that's not a good lesson at all. Forget it. Right now.

Welcome back to One Shots, the column that you brought back and is now extremely lonely because only faithful reader Eric sent us in something from this past week! Admire Eric's pursuit of Guild Wars 2 waterfalls after the break, and be more like Eric by sending us in your favorite MMO screenshots with descriptions.

Reader Austin is not modest at all, but that plays into our hand. He's becoming the cream of the crop in Star Wars: The Old Republic and has the goods to show it.

"With 1.3, my Chiss Sniper Flickked took advantage of adaptive gear to show off his full Containment Suit earned via the Rakghoul Plague event," he writes. "I figured Taris was an appropriate place to take a couple of pictures. Many fans of the original game will recognize what's become of the Endar Spire."

Who says the fellas can't appreciate natural beauty when they see it? Brad is all ga-ga over TERA's huge... tracts of land, and he's not ashamed to say it.

"TERA has absolutely gorgeous landscapes," Brad writes. "You can spend hours riding around
and finding so many perfect spots to take a screenshot, then rotating the camera just a bit and finding yet another picture you want to save. The TERA team did a great job creating the artwork. This was a shot during beta on my Archer, Miri, at around level 18."

Hitting a major milestone in a game is always call for celebration, and Reader Henrik was able to capture the exact moment when his Diablo III character crossed the finish line.

"This is a screenshot I took in the exact moment I reached level 60 in Diablo III on my Demon Hunter, Primarch," Henrik shares. "I was in Arreat Crater on my way to destroy one of the sin hearts in Hell mode Act 3."
