The Queue: Q?

Welcome back to The Queue, the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Adam Holisky (@adamholisky) will be your host today.

I haven't opined about Star Trek in a while. So here's a video of Patrick Stewart being awesome for Gene Roddenberry.

Ic3d asked:

Whats the best class and spec to solo raids with and whatever class it is, how far can it go?

I've heard people say they've been able to solo the old raids with every class out there. Of course the damage and tanking specs are going to be the best, but I know even clothies are able to achieve success here.

From my own experience heavy AoE plate wearers with strong self healing abilities have the easiest time soloing old content. To me, that means my paladin, although I'm sure there'll be a lot of QQ below...

Valantor asked:

Has blizzard said anything about ciner kitty , i was under the impression we were waiting on the patch for it to go on sale but besides the announcement i havent seen anything else

We know we're getting it soon, but how soon we're not sure. Blizzard needs to deliver these things correctly, and there's a lot of moving parts in getting them out the door. While it's just 1s and 0s on our end, on Blizzard's side the business transaction has a lot more to it. Give it time, and I'm sure it'll be out.

It would have been nicer though to see it sooner... I do wonder if sales would have been larger when Sandy's impact was more on the forefront of everyone's mind. It's been almost a month now.

Edit: The Cinder Kitten went up for sale today!

Ethan Kelleher asked:

When will Blizzard be updating the Armory to reflect upgrades, thus allowing us to use third party websites to better our toons?

We don't know, but we do know there's people at Blizzard that are actively upgrading the armory and the backend data service. So I'd assume the information will be available soon.

Amax asked:

So, is it possible to get a portal for an alt to the Shrine of Seven Stars before the zone is unlocked for an alt like we used to for Dalaran and Shattrath?

Yes. You can have a mage portal you there, or get a warlock to summon you. If you're there -- you're there. Some things might not function correctly due to the story bound nature of your arrival in the zone, but it works just fine to park a guilded bank alt.

Broleap asked:

Why does it seem like whenever a vote kick is initiated, people jump on board? I was in a group the other day where we finished a boss and the tank walked a few feet and stopped. The hapless Mage accidentally sauntered into a group of trash, and we lived because the tank picked them up. No harm done. The tank immediately flips out, telling the Mage he should just tank if he wants to pull, and that he was waiting on the healer to get mana (I was healing and finished the boss with 90% of my mana intact... Not sure what he was waiting on). He votes to kick the Mage, I click no because people make mistakes. Mage gets kicked anyway by the 2 silent dps. This is just irritating. Sorry, more of a rant than a question haha

I fully agree with what Corey said in the comments:

"Welcome to the Internet, where people instantly agree with the loudest opinions, no matter how terrible."

People naturally gravitate towards group opinions. If there's a chance for everyone to socially agree with each other, most will take it. That often means that the strongestly stated opinion wins out. A vote to kick is a very strongly stated opinion. When people see a kick, their minds think that everyone will want to kick, so they do. You're then part of a group, and you have the best chance for survival in a group. It's very basic animal behavior.

I feel that in LFR when the group is less personal and more dehumanized, these group think actions are more prevalent. It's sad... it's annoying... and it's not right. But that's what's happening.

There have been a few times though when I've initiated a group kick. I try to make it clear in /raid chat why I'm kicking. I've never not initiated a successful kick either. And if I wasn't successful, I would just leave and find something else to do, because playing with people that need to be kicked is no fun.

(I realize that some people are going to say how rude I am for calling people out before I kick them, but if you're going to deny a gaming experience to someone, the least you can do is tell them why.)
