App updates you don't want to miss -- January 21 edition

It has been another busy week in the App Store with a bunch of app updates landing on iOS and OS X. Grab a cup of joe and check out our list of notable updates from the past few days!

2Do: Tasks Done in Style [iOS Universal, Category: Productivity, $9.99] From a simple checklist to full-blown project management, 2Do is an incredibly powerful task manager that lets you focus on what's important. Version 2.8.3 brings the following changes:

• New built-in search presets including alltasks, subtasks, and scheduled.

• Auto-backups can now be manually deleted from the Manage Auto-Backups screen

• Bug fixes and stability improvements

Reeder [iPhone, Category: News, $2.99] Client for Fever, Readability and Google Reader. Version 3.0.6 brings the following changes:

• Slide right/left to send to QUOTE.fm Read (see Settings App Settings Slide Right/Left to)

• Fixed Crash while syncing

• Fixed Crash when opening an article

• Fixed Adding subscriptions

• Fixed No sound when playing videos

Mr. Reader [iPad, Category: News, $3.99] Mr. Reader is a RSS news reader for your iPad that synchronizes with your Google Reader account. Version 1.11 brings the following changes:

• Added a generic solution to open 3rd party Browsers by using their URL schemes.

• Replaced all previously hard coded 3rd party Browsers with the new generic solution

• Added Apollo Browser, Dolphin Browser, Maven Web Browser+ to the Browser examples

• Added a generic solution to open other 3rd party Apps by using their URL schemes.

• Replaced all previously hard coded Apps (Blogsy, OmniFocus, Terminology, Things) with the new generic solution

• Added the following to the App examples: Articles, Drafts, HootSuite, Papers, Poster, Search Google, Search Wikipedia

• Send your added App and Browser configurations (generic solution) to other Mr. Reader users by mail. They can import/install them directly from the Mail App.

• Added a generic mail actions solution for services like Springpad that can process mails. Also with export and import functionality.

• Added App.net (ADN) as a new service

• Added Toodledo (Notebooks) as a new service

• Added LinkedIn as a new service

• New Articles Table option to mark articles automatically as read on open in the article view as before or manually

• Left-hand users: Exchange the location of the subscriptions (folders/feeds/etc.) and articles table: Settings -> Miscellaenous -> Subscriptions And Articles Table

InstaWeather Pro [iPhone, Category: Weather, $0.99] Place a perfect weather report on top of your Instagram photo. Version 1.9.4 brings the following changes:

• location service fix for Beijing, Shanghai and other big cites in China

• more detailed locations in Australia & Norway

• now Bronx is Bronx not just New York

• fixes for gallery picture crashes

Brewster Address Book [iPhone, Category: Productivity, Free] Brewster merges all of your contacts from your favorite social network sites and communication services to create personalized and dynamic profiles. Version 1.5 brings the following changes:

• Updated user interface for smoother navigation and search

• Sync your Brewster address book with your iPhone address book

StumbleUpon [iOS Universal, Category: Entertainment, Free] StumbleUpon takes the boring ol' Internet and makes it way more awesome by only showing you stuff you like. Tap the Stumble button and come get lost in a wonderland of videos, photos, and webpages personalized just for you.

• New Home Page - Enjoy a newly updated home page with quick access to Lists, what's trending, and social activity in StumbleUpon.

• Lists - Explore, stumble through, and get addicted to following Lists that others have created.

• Slide - Pull down to reveal cool facts about each page and why you're seeing it.

• Refresh - Quickly refresh any stumble by pulling down on the page.

InstaInspire + [iOS Universal, Category: Photography & Video, $0.99] InstaInspire is the an idea sketching photo app with a built-in digital recorder. Version 1.3 brings the following changes:

• Fixed architecture errors to help with crashes

• Placed target to 4.3 from 5.0 (for older devices)

Trulia [iOS Universal, Category: Lifestyle, Free] Trulia's real estate app helps you find the perfect home, wherever you are. Just tap and see a map and photos of nearby homes for sale or apartments for rent. Version 5.7 brings the following changes:

• Easily distinguish the newest properties on the market

• See school and amenity markers right on your map

• Get median price and school rating info for any city

PinYinPal [iPad, Category: Games, Free] PinYinPal teaches players to read, recognize, and define Mandarin characters in a fun, simple game. Version 1.0.2 brings the following changes:

• Audio support for Dictionary and Word Finder

• Game Log updates

• Additional Tutorial

• Additional social integration

• Numerous bug fixes

Packing Pro [iOS Universal, Category: Travel, $2.99] Packing Pro is a pro version of the popular Packing app. Version 8.3 brings the following changes:

• Added MULTI-DELETE/COPY/MOVE/SET for Master Catalog, packing lists, people & bags

• Added a 'FAVORITES' category & functions for quick, simple list-making

• Added 'remaining items' BADGES to home screen lists, as well as app icon (optional)

• List notes are now optionally shown on the home screen

• Nicer deletion animations for packing list items & categories

• Extra Person & Bag icons added

• 14 extra font choices added (Customized Design)

• New iOS 6.0 Facebook & Twitter integration

• Fixed some bugs with duplicate list items & capitalizing/uncap. names

• Quicker, easier way to enter item values

• Disabled the annoying keyboard auto-popup on iPads when viewing item details

Hoozin [iPhone, Category: Social Networking, Free] Hoozin is a free group chat that allows you and your friends to interact without losing the special vibe and dynamics that you have in real life. Version 5.8 brings the following changes:

• The return of the swiping wheel.

• iPhone 5 support

• Friends of friends - see more hoozin users in your friends tab

• Bug fixes

Dolphin Browser [iPhone, Category: Productivity, Free] Use Dolphin's tabbed browsing and share any web content instantly to your favorite social networks and send between desktop and mobile devices. Version 7.0 brings the following changes:

• Make a splash in 30 NEW LEVELS!

• Get ready for the ultimate underwater boss level!

• Three-star levels for 3 new bonus levels!

Kaleidoscope 2 [OS X, Category: Developer Tools, $34.99] Use Kaleidoscope to spot the differences in text, images, and folders. Review and merge changes with the this file comparison application. Version 2.0 brings the following changes:

• Added support for merging text documents using a Two-Way interface in Text Scope.

• Added version control integration for merging and resolving conflicts using a Three-Way interface in Text Scope.

• Folder Scope

• Kaleidoscope Snippets and Services

• Clipboard Support

• Kaleidoscope now supports resolving merge conflicts for images.

• Added support for Full Screen on Lion and Mountain Lion.
