PS3 250GB Slim illuminating Japan in Garnet Red, Azurite Blue
The PS3 is primping it up in Japan with newly unveiled Garnet Red and Azurite Blue colors, The flashy glazes for the 250GB Slim come with a matching DualShock 3 controller, and are available from February 28 at ¥24,980 ($279).
The colors also cropped up in Europe on across the weekend via Amazon.de, the listings for 500GB consoles with 2 DualShock 3 controllers, priced at €329.95 ($439). There's been no word on these colors coming to North America as yet.
Since you asked, azurite is a type of copper carbonate which traces its name to the Persian word 'lazhward.' Garnet, of course, traces its name all the way back to Final Fantasy 9.
