App updates you don't want to miss -- January 25 edition

It has been another busy week in the App Store with a bunch of app updates landing on iOS and OS X. Grab a cup of joe and check out our list of notable updates from the past few days!

iOS Apps

Call It Out [iPhone, Category: Social Networking, Free] Call-It-Out is the next evolution in social media and the world's first mobile app that allows you to easily rate, capture, and share life through comments, images and videos. Version 1.0.10 brings the following changes:

  • New user guides to learn the app

  • Improved notification handling

  • Inviting Facebook friends

  • Several UI updates

LetsTans Deluxe for iPhone [iPhone, Category: Games, $2.99] Play Tangram in new ways with 1700 hand-crafted puzzles and 10 modes. Version 3.4 brings the following changes:

  • 20 new Classic puzzles

  • Optimized for iPhone 5.

  • Additional polishing, bugs fixed.

LetsTans Premium for iPad [iPad, Category: Games, $2.99] Play Tangram in new ways with 1700 hand-crafted puzzles and 10 modes. Version 3.4 brings the following changes:

  • 20 new Classic puzzles!

  • Fixed problem with landscape orientation.

  • Additional polishing, bugs fixed.

Triposo [iOS Universal, Category: Travel, Free] Triposo offers you the best travel guide for your phone. It's free and works offline. Version 2.2.0 brings the following changes:

  • Local events & music performances.

  • In depth information on Festivals, Wildlife, Cuisine & Art.

  • Sharing places and photos with other travelers.

  • Better phrasebooks.

  • Easier Hotel booking.

  • More info on public transport.

  • Offers in selected cities.

  • Streamlined iPhone UI.

Drafts App [iPhone, Category: Productivity, $2.99] Drafts, where text starts on iOS. Version 2.5 brings the following changes:

  • Dropbox Actions

  • URL Actions

  • Share Actions/Action Directory

  • URL Callbacks and Action Triggers

  • Bug Fixes

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City [iOS Universal, Category: Games, $4.99] Welcome back to Vice City. Welcome back to the 1980s. Version 1.2 brings the following changes:

  • Improved stability on the iPod Touch 4th Generation

  • Assorted Bug Fixes

Pixel Defenders Puzzle [iOS Universal, Category: Games, $0.99] Pixel Defenders Puzzle is an innovative puzzle game with strategic combat elements. Version 1.1.0 brings the following changes:

  • Full resolution on iPad and iPhone 5.

  • New game mode: Never-ending assault!

  • Game Center: 64 Achievements + Global leaderboards.

  • Tutorials are now much faster & shorter.

  • Colorblind settings.

  • Mute button obeyed.

  • You can now earn stock items in Endless Mode.

  • Limit on stock-item usage in Endless & Assault modes.

  • Various minor fixes and improvements.

  • Icon updated.

Fantastical for iPhone [iPhone, Category: Productivity, $4.99] Fantastical is the fastest and friendliest calendar app. Version 1.0.3 brings the following changes:

  • Specify a calendar for new events by adding "calendar [calendar name]" (e.g. "Lunch tomorrow at 1pm calendar home")

  • Improved handling when changing a new event's end date

  • Improved date handling when switching between all-day and timed events

  • "Unavailable" availability status now appears as "Out of office" when using Exchange

  • When creating a new event, tapping Show Details before entering a sentence now defaults to a timed event

  • Various other bug fixes and improvements

I Learn With Boing: Ocean Adventures [iOS Universal, Category: Education, Free] Children will learn as they play with a pirate octopus, colourful crabs and dancing clown fishes.Version 1.2.2 brings the following changes:

  • Brand new "Playground" functionality to reward your child when completing one of the 9 learning steps.

  • A quick recess time in between game sessions to reinforce motivation to complete the curriculum.

  • New functionality not available on iPad 1 and iPod touch.

  • Optimized for better performance on iPad 1.

Tonido [iOS Universal, Category: Productivity, Free] Tonido allows you to access your entire collection of documents, photos, music and videos in your computer, TonidoPlug or Tonido Cloud from anywhere. Version 4.0.2 brings the following changes:

  • Live Video conversion support for Windows, Mac and Linux

  • Video Transcoding (1080P) Optimization

  • Music Streaming Optimization

  • Airplay Support

  • Japanese and Italian Language Support

Dash Office [iOS Universal, Category: Productivity, Free] Take complete control over the speed, data usage, security, and overall performance of your iPad or iPhone with Dash Office. Version 1.09 brings the following changes:

  • Lower Battery Usage

  • Faster page loads

Tabule [iPhone, Category: Education, Free] Tabule is the best shared todo list for remembering your homework. Version 1.1.1 brings the following changes:

  • Adding due dates is even easier now

  • Bug fixes

Treat Cards by Shutterfly [iPhone, Category: Photography & Video, Now free, down from $9.99] Send real, personalized cards in a flash no matter where you are. Version 2.0 brings the following changes:

  • Everything's faster. Much, much faster. (You might need faster fingers now.)

  • Improved interface makes it even easier to find the perfect card.

  • Squashed some little bugs.

Epicurious [iPhone, Category: Food & Drink, Free] Recipes from the award-winning food site Epicurious.com are now available on your iPhone and your iPad. Version 3.0.6 brings the following changes:

  • Faster, smoother updates

  • View recipes saved from other websites to your Recipe Box on Epicurious.com

  • Sync your personal and member-submitted recipes to your Recipe Box

Twittelator Pro [iPhone, Category: Social Networking, $4.99] Twittelator Pro is the ultimate Twitter client with every feature you need. Version 5.2.1 brings the following changes:

  • Automatic Retweet works correctly now

  • Updated for Twitter Api 1.1 - requires iOS 5 or greater

Twitteriffic 5 [iOS Universal, Category: Social Networking, $2.99] Twitterrific is the award-winning, fast and elegant Twitter client that's easy to understand and a delight to use. Version 5.0.2 brings the following changes:

OS X Apps

Tokens 1.1 [OS X, Category: Developer Tools $29 (on sale for $19 until Jan. 31] Tokens makes it remarkably easy to generate, share, and track promo codes for your iOS and Mac apps.Version 1.1 brings the following changes:

  • Manual import of promo codes generated outside of Tokens

  • Add new tokens using the + button

  • Share tokens more easily using the share button that appears on each token when you hover over it

  • "Copy" is now in the share menu.

Analog for Mac OS [OS X, Category: Photography & Video, $9.99] Analog makes it easy to improve your photos with a stunning selection of filters and borders. Version 1.2.1 brings the following changes:

  • Improves iPhoto and Aperture round-tripping support

  • Other minor improvements

Watermarker [OS X, Category: Productivity, $7.99] Watermarker is the premiere utility for customizing images with a variety of watermarking options. Version 1.1 brings the following changes:

  • Batch Processing

  • Watermark multiple images or even an entire directory at once

  • Fast and easy drag and drop workflow for batch watermarking images

  • Drag multiple images or folders to the Canvas or Dock icon to quickly open

  • Drag images out of Watermarker and in to a folder to save all of them at once

  • New UI improvements to reflect working with multiple images

Acorn [OS X, Category: Photography & Video, $49.99] Everyone needs to edit images at some point, but not everyone has the time to learn super pricey wizbang image editing programs. This is why we created Acorn. Version 3.5.1 brings the following changes:

  • a handful of bug fixes that fixed a bug where drawing with a selection on transparent pixels would come out incorrectly, where the delete AppleScript command wasn't working and more.
