Amped Wireless' New Device Boosts, Extends Your Wi-Fi Signal, Eliminating Dead Spots

Amped Wireless unveils the industry's most powerful, compact Wi-Fi range extender: The REC10

Slow Internet speed can at times be frustrating, but not being able to connect to your Wi-Fi network in certain places around your home or office is absolutely infuriating. Amped Wireless, the leading manufacturer of high-power, long-range wireless communications products for the home and office, solves this problem with its new REC10 High Power 600mW Compact Wi-Fi Range Extender. The simple plug and play unit amplifies the current signal emitting from your router making Internet access in your basement, garage, yard, throughout an office and conference rooms, in warehouses, and other "hard to reach" areas possible.

Whether it is concrete, cinder block walls or simply sheer distance preventing your Internet signal from reaching where you need it, the REC10 packs enough power into a small package to overcome these obstacles. Traditional routers have an output power of a mere 50 milliwatts (mW). The REC10 has twelve times the power output – 600mW – making it powerful enough to provide up to 6,500 square feet of Wi-Fi coverage. The average router most people are using right now only provides 1,500 square feet of coverage.

"With more and more tablets, smartphones and laptops being used by consumers and businesses today, the need for more Wi-Fi coverage has never been greater," stated Jason Owen, CEO at Amped Wireless. "The REC10 is the newest and smallest range extender that we've ever built. It's also among the most powerful. We've packed our award-winning, high power technology into a compact, plug-in design that provides unrivaled Wi-Fi coverage for anyone to use their tablets and smartphones throughout their entire home or office."

At a mere 2.75 by 4 inches in size, the REC10 can be discreetly installed in any outlet. The REC10 can be set up wirelessly, using a tablet or laptop. Simply plug it in to an outlet, access the web menu and select a network to extend. It is compatible with all brands of routers and all Internet service provider gateways. An additional wired port is built into the REC10 for connecting PCs, TVs, Blu-ray players, game consoles and other devices. The REC10 also has leading security features including parental controls like restricted access for certain users and time of day schedules for when the network is available and when it is not, as well as adjustable Wi-Fi coverage settings.

The REC10 High Power 600mW Compact Wi-Fi Range Extender retails for $79.99 (USD). It can be purchased now at www.ampedwireless.com and will be carried in retail locations nationwide beginning in April 2013.
