Your smartphone and / or tablet is just begging for an update. From time to time, these mobile devices are blessed with maintenance refreshes, bug fixes, custom ROMs and anything in between, and so many of them are floating around that it's easy for a sizable chunk to get lost in the mix. To make sure they don't escape without notice, we've gathered every possible update, hack, and other miscellaneous tomfoolery we could find during the last week and crammed them into one convenient roundup. Official Android updates

  • Motorola Droid Bionic: Verizon has announced that it'll begin a rollout of Jelly Bean to this smartphone on April 15th. The update is also said to bring voice quality improvements, along with better data connectivity and mobile hotspot performance. You'll also notice that both Sling and MOG have been removed from this release. [Verizon Wireless]

  • HTC Droid DNA: Verizon released a 33MB update that's said to resolve SIM card detection issues on this 1080p smartphone. [Droid Life]

  • Samsung Galaxy S II: Just like the Skyrocket on AT&T, the GS2 for T-Mobile is eligible for an update to Android 4.1.2 via Samsung Kies. The download weighs in at approximately 756MB, and you'll want to get on it at some point, as the upgrade won't be released for OTA installation. [Android Police]

  • HTC One SV: Following France's lead, O2 Germany has released an update that'll bump this smartphone to Android 4.1.2. [Golem.de]

  • Samsung Galaxy Victory: Sprint began rolling out an update to Android 4.1.2 this week, which also installs Swype as an option for the virtual keyboard. [Sprint]

  • ASUS Transformer Pad Infinity: Following last week's release of an Android 4.1.2 update for this tablet, ASUS has published a full recovery image that's based on the same build. [Android Police]

Unofficial Android updates, custom ROMs and misc. hackery

  • Motorola: A bootloader unlock tool is now available for the Droid RAZR HD, Droid RAZR MAXX HD, Droid RAZR M and Atrix HD, which is thanks to the work of Dan Rosenberg. The utility requires root, however, and is specific to the devices listed above. [Android Police]

  • CyanogenMod: The first M3 builds of CyanogenMod 10.1 were published this week, which includes support for a large handful of devices such as the Nexus 4, Nexus 7, Galaxy Nexus, Nexus S, Galaxy S III, Galaxy S II and One X. As a word of caution, however, some GS3 users have reported boot loop issues with this build.   • Motorola Droid RAZR M: A recently announced soak test points to an upcoming maintenance release for this compact smartphone on Verizon. [Droid Life]

Other platforms

  • BlackBerry Z10: AT&T has released an OTA update for the Z10 that bumps the smartphone to BlackBerry OS 10.0.10.822. The maintenance release is said to bring battery life improvements, along with better support for third-party apps. [CrackBerry]

  • BlackBerry Bold 9900: Telstra released BlackBerry OS 7.1.0.912 for this smartphone. [N4BB]
