Anna - Extended Edition improves UI, horror based on player feedback
When Anna launched late last year, it freaked us right out. It's an adventure game soaked with subtle, horrifying moments and disturbing imagery overlaid on a gorgeous Italian countryside – though not everyone agreed with this positive assessment. It was knocked for being too short, too esoteric, not structured enough. Anna – Extended Edition promises to address these criticisms, based on "the feedback of the thousands of players of the original Anna." The extended edition is available now, in boxed and digital form in the UK, and digitally in the US via Steam, for PC, Mac and Linux.
Anna – Extended Edition includes new environments, puzzles, user interface and music, improved graphics, and a new character, "The Wife Doll," who has her own AI. The user interface was one con we noted during our time with Anna, though we still found the entire experience to be an outright creep-fest. New Trailer Launches Horror Adventure Title
'Anna - Extended Edition'
Bracknell, UK – 16th April 2013 – Kalypso Media are pleased to announce that the retail version of the horror adventure title Anna – Extended Edition is now available to buy in stores across the UK and Export territories. Created by Italian developer Dreampainters, Anna - Extended Edition boasts an improved interface and will also include new puzzles and new environments allowing for many more hours of game play as well as exclusive in box extras.
Anna is a first-person horror adventure that explores the darkest depths of the human psyche. Set in an abandoned sawmill nestled high in the Italian mountains, Anna challenges the player to uncover horrific clues and use them to solve puzzles related to your character's dark past. The player's behaviour does not only determine the mental health of the main character but can also change locations and unveil new secrets leading to one of eight possible endings.
Anna - Extended Edition has been given an overhaul based on the feedback of the thousands of players of the original Anna. It features more environments, more hours of game play, more puzzles, additional gameplay features, enhanced graphics and an improved interface. Anna – Extended Edition is sure to please fans of psychological horror games such as Amnesia or Silent Hill and impress with the upgraded graphics and sound. Fans that have already purchased the standard version of Anna online will be able to download the Extended Edition content for free.
